The mission of GINZA DIAMOND SHIRAISHI is to bring two people in love together with their destined diamond.

Diamond Procurement Specialist

We carefully select each diamond, one by one, to ensure the highest quality.

With a consistently rigorous approach, we pursue the enduring brilliance that symbolizes an eternal bond.

We carry this important mission and present it to every couple in love.

Mr. Shingen Saito, a key figure at GINZA DIAMOND SHIRAISHI, has worked for over 20 years in Israel—one of the world’s three major diamond markets—as a diamond grader and top buyer.

With an exceptional international career and outstanding expertise, he is regarded as one of the leading professionals in the field. We had the opportunity to interview this highly accomplished specialist.

With a discerning eye honed through selecting over one million diamonds, we consistently pursue brilliance with a rigorous and uncompromising approach.

First, let me briefly introduce my background and work.

In 1985, I moved to Israel and worked as a diamond grader for 18 years. After that, I was stationed at our local subsidiary, “Israel SHIRAISHI,” where I began handling diamond purchasing. To date, I have likely evaluated around one million diamonds.

My role is to select diamonds that meet GINZA DIAMOND SHIRAISHI’s quality standards from a vast pool of stones.

To do this, I first assess a diamond’s balance (an overall evaluation of its cut), followed by its color grade and clarity (transparency), with colorless D-grade being the highest.

The emerging evaluation standard, “Sarine-Light”

GINZA DIAMOND SHIRAISHI was among the first to adopt the “Sarine Light” standard, prioritizing diamonds with superior brilliance. While instruments measure balance and quality, the final judgment is made by human eyes, evaluating color, symmetry, and craftsmanship to ensure true beauty.

St.glare, a signature creation of GINZA DIAMOND SHIRAISHI, reflects true craftsmanship and expertise.

A masterpiece that preserves the diamond’s natural brilliance while bringing its beauty to its fullest expression.

We carefully select only diamonds with the highest brilliance, and refine their beauty beyond their natural radiance—this is GINZA DIAMOND SHIRAISHI’s signature creation, “St.glare.”

Its minimalist design minimizes prongs to maximize light, while cathedral-inspired arches add refined elegance. Every angle reveals exceptional craftsmanship and beauty.

World-class quality is GINZA DIAMOND SHIRAISHI’s pride. We pursue “perfection” for every couple.

What is a buyer’s guiding belief, and what matters most to them?

Diamond evaluation must be conducted under consistent conditions with strict self-discipline. Even factors such as fatigue or mood can affect perception, so careful control is essential.

Each diamond is carefully inspected under both standard loupes and gem microscopes to ensure the highest quality.

Through this rigorous process, we select only top-tier stones, including those graded “Ultimate 3star,” representing exceptional brilliance achieved by the top 12% of diamonds worldwide.

What is the greatest joy of working in this field?

I think it is the moment when a completed ring is handed over to the customer. In that radiant moment, an eternal bond is formed, and a new “family” is born… That truly brings me happiness—it is my greatest reward and the highest value of my work.

I hope to continue meeting many more couples and offering them the very best wedding rings. That is my wish.
